Getting Started

 

  1. Using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, go to the following url: https://app.clipchamp.com/

  2. Sign in with one of the sign-in options.

  3. Click Create your first video (Click to expand the example image below).

  4. You are now ready to start your first video project.  Drag and drop your your media files directly into Clipchamp (in your web browser). In the example below (click to expand), files were dragged from the desktop to the Clipchamp Media Bin. The media Bin is where you can organize all media for your project. This could include videos, images or audio files.

  5. Once your media has been loaded into ClipChamp, Choose and drag media files from the Media Bin into the Timeline. The Timeline is where you edit your video

Navigating the Timeline

 

  • The Timeline gives you a linear view of all media clips used in your video project. Use the Scroll Bar (located under of the Timeline) to move backwards and forwards. Use the Zoom Tools (above the Timeline) to help you see specific clips in your Timeline.

  • Click and drag the Playhead Indicator to navigate forward or backward in your video project.

  • Use the Play Controls (located just below the Viewer Window) to play your video.

Editing

 

  • To split a clip, move the Playhead Indicator to the position where you would like to split the clip. Click the Spit button (or type the 'S' key).

  • Shorten (or lengthen) a clip by first selecting the clip with a click, and then clicking and dragging the edge.

  • Add a transition (such as Cross fade) between two clips by dragging the clips next to each other and clicking in between them.

    • After you click Add transition,  transition controls will appear to the right side of Viewer Window. You can adjust the duration of your transition (how long it takes to transition between the two clips) using the Duration slider.

  • Adjust the appearance of your video (crop, zoom, orientation etc.) using the tools found to the left of the viewer window.

  • You can find more editing tools to the right of the viewer window. Click to expand these to see more options.

  • 6. Once you are satisfied with your edit, you can export your video by clicking the 'Export' button.

  • Once you select your export quality, your video will automatically begin processing. Once complete, your video file will download to your browser's download folder.
